How Long Do I Have to Submit Claims After the End of the Plan Year?
You are given 90 days after the last day of your plan year to submit claims for prior year expenses. Remember, the date of service must occur during the plan year.
Example : Your plan year ends on December 31, 2006 . You incurred an expense for a service that occurred during the plan year (before 12/31/06 ). You may submit a claim for that expense any time before 3/31/07 to receive reimbursement. That is, if you have available funds in your spending account.
